Activism

Hey Bruce, good to see another new face
Although I'm not sure if there's a chapter nearer to you, anyone is welcome to join us at meetings or events. For now we've only had one informal meeting in which we met a group called 'transition chichester' which was very productive.
This weekend on Saturday we are meeting in Wests to discuss promotion of the new film. It'd be nice if people could check out www.zeitgeistmovingforward.com to read the press release.
It's handy you're in a different area because perhaps you can try and get a screening there?

Yeah I know, I seem to be at pretty much an equal distance from Reading and Chichester with nowhere in between, not to my knowledge anyway.
As far as I know there is no chapter in Hampshire, which is surprising considering the large number of big cities such as Basingstoke, Guildford and Winchester. I'm definitely willing to start one though man.
Yeah I've looked at the press release, I'm just sorting out deferring my entry for university (which I started this year) so I will be in hampshire until next september. I guess I could organise a screening in one of the cities I mentioned. Any idea of anyone I can contact in the area or shall I get my own initiative going?

Alright mate that'd be cool, my geography's a little poor but have you tried talking to simon? I'll do a check of my mailing list and see if I have anyone nearby.
Is there a tangible list of our chapters? I'm not very knowledgeable on that.
I think you should start one - since I've officially started a facebook group that made things pick up exponentially and particluarly an initial casual meet - even try to get like minded groups to come along if possible. I've started a blog for news as I don't think we nee a full on website. Right now I'm considering local towns under our 'wing' like bognor, pagham, selsey etc, maybe even Portsmouth until it gets going.
If you ask Simon, he may come visit and help you out, he's quite keen to help chapters get going - I would but I'm very busy preparing for the new film myself amongst other things.
Ultimately you're more than welcome to come but it's a little far. A once off may do no harm to make friends and get some ideas though aye?

Suggestions
Hi there, new member, Bognor Regis and Felpham which is right next to it is where i live at the moment, that'd be a suggested hotspot for potential members if we were to take any areas under the 'wing'. Lots of open minded guys i know down there :) . I attend the college at chichester though so i know the area and some of the people, been involved in discussions with friends already so they seem as keen as me to get going! Cheers, Jake.

I reckon I'll start one
I reckon I'll start one man.
I need a project this year as it is! And I would really put a lot into it, I am massively passionate about this movement.
Should I name the chapter under the name of a near city as I only live in a small town or what?
I already know a fair few friends who have seen addendum and believe in it but haven't really had a push for activism. I can definitely initiate that.
Yeah I may come along, but of course, as a student, I am already in debt! haha. But we'll see. If not then I'm sure we'll keep in touch anyway and I will initiating what I can.
I'm happy to take on any help man, if this "Simon" can help then yeah I'd love to meet him. If not I will get involved anyway and attend the monday 9pm meetings on Teamspeak.
