Cultural Evening #9:

Film:
The Crash Course, by Chris Martenson, 2008, English language without subtitles, 150 min

The Crash Course seeks to help you understand the nature of some extremely serious challenges and risks to our economy and your future prosperity. The author, an American scientist, weaves together a number of seemingly disparate topics into a single story, discussing the Economy, Debt, Energy, Growth and the Environment... For it is where these fields overlap and intersect that the greatest story of any generation will get told.

What we are going to watch is a shorter version of the original video. Around 45 minutes (mostly on money creation, historical bubbles and savings) have been edited out to shorten it, so that it becomes more manageable for a one-evening screening. The original running time is 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Minimum number of people required: 20
Cost: 4£ (assuming 20 attendees but, the more people, the cheaper).
NB: the rental of the lecture room for the event costs £90. Therefore we would be very grateful if people reply "Yes" only if they are sure they will show up on the day, otherwise this meetup will lose money and that may jeopardise future Cultural Evenings. Thanks for your understanding. :-)

Nearest tube station: Euston Square
Meeting point inside the college: "South Cloisters", which is the entrance on the right when you reach the "Main Quadrangle" (see the college map here):

Considering the long running time of the video and for the sake of those who make an effort to be on time, the movie will start at 6pm sharp. Please make provisions to get to the venue before 6pm.

Should anyone get lost, they can phone 07917 648 491 for directions (only before 6pm).
