Another work question

If I'm doing my job and someone pisses me off or I'm tired or just decide I've got something better to do then how do you make me stay? Do you take privalages from me, humiliate me, outcast me? Either way that's still slavery!

I imagine you get the sack, and your replaced with someone else who wants to do the job.

I imagine it will mean people will less let you do other work in the future if you develop a reputation for not sticking to your word.

Best if you can finish your shift, and work your leaving period.

Consider for example if your driving an ambulance, its not really on to leave your post, and if there are no replacement drivers on hand, it could well take a while to train up a replacement, so your be needed for that task before you can leave the job.

Re: Another work question

That's a bit harsh Nanos but you do have a good point.
Right now we have more than 10% unemployment, once people lose faith in the counterfeit stuff they keep passing each other, at least another 50% will become unemployed as the useless money-related jobs disappear. At least in the interim there will be plenty of hands on for everything, and I don't even know what advances we might make in automating something like emergency services in the future.
If you don't want to do 'your job' then why do it? Nobody wants to force you to do anything, especially when there are so many other people who want to help the world and a machine could possibly do it better. If there is something better you could be doing, you should definitely do it.

Unoffically the figures appear to be 38%, there is one town in the UK where its at 74%!

I do look forward to the day when automation is high enough that a volunteer workforce can drive everything so to speak.

To get there though, we'll have to do what is needed, which won't always be what we want to do.
