I've no idea whether there are users of this forum that aren't registered with the TZM Global Website? Who wouldn't have received an email reminder?
Anyway, I thought I'd pass this on:

And, while I'm passing on updates from the Global Website, VTV posted this today:
"The official word from VP regarding Jacque and Canada.
Roxanne is going to blog on this hopefully tonight to give more details, but to answer the dozens of questions I have gotten about Jacque's health I got in contact with them.
Jacque got a really bad cold and has not been getting sleep for the last four days and it has taken a toll. All of the traveling and constant changes in sleep schedule would take a toll on anyone, so don't panic. He is not in any sort of danger from this but he needed to get back to warm weather and sleep. Roxanne said that they are going to try and get to Canada after Jacque is well again.
So be on the lookout on Roxanne's blog on the Venus Project website for further details, and please feel free to spread this around to save me from having to re-type it a billion or so times."

Thanks for the link Feral. I'd been listening to PJ on blog talk radio upto almost a year ago but haven't kept up for one reason or another (mainly reacting to debunkers or religious protagonists). Great stuff. I know Peter would never ever consider the position of world leader but simply through the effort and spirit he has put in, if we survive, his name and reputation will be legendary. 30 years to sort this out before the point of no return without extreme cost. That's a challenge. We should all double our resolve to get more people on board. The critical mass to shift opinion will be of our making. Peter is providing the tools.
Tonight at 4pm EDT (9pm UK Time) the lecture is no. 4, originally scheduled for last week (Oct 20) entitled The Transition.
"Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten." Cree Prophecy.
Just listened to this. He made some very good points (eg how you can't have a RBE in one country, how "communes", however large, can't escape from market pressures and how world poverty can be solved by throwing resources not money at the problem).
What I didn't understand is why, in his ideal scenario (in the unlikely event of there being a ZM government, I think he was implying), he envisaged starting with banking and monetary reforms and work and monetary income sharing rather than starting off straightaway tackling world poverty, introducing free services, socialising energy and industry and dissolving corporations.
In other words, why waste time correcting the perceived flaws of the present system (unsustainable debt creation, growing technological unemployment) before embarking on getting rid of it? Especially as, in the scenario he considers probable (the collapse of the present system), he has the ZM movement joining with others to put pressure on governments to implement the measures outlined in the ideal scenario. This could involve the movement in supporting measures that would prop up rather than abolish the present system while surely we want to end it not mend it.
I listened to lecture #4 a few days ago too. The theme is the transition period. As I understood he'd set out 2 scenarios, one which would be very difficult to predict and one where current world governments accept the requirement to move towards a RBE. I hadn't considered this either but retaining money for a period of transistion makes sense. People and businesses are going to be able to function much more easily if they carry on in the mode of operation they are used to with a gradual move to the new paradigm. The most significant feature of money in the transition is that the models of profit and money making money would be absent during this period.
Essentially it enables us to get to our desired ultimate destination faster than for a complete breakdown where we would need to try and establish a RBE out of chaos. He did suggest that he would make a presentation on this so maybe this will help to make the concept of the 'ideal' transiton clearer.
> retaining money for a period of transistion makes sense.
Agreed. (Though some of you will know I have said this for some time already.)
Employee profit sharing companies are one of those first steps I can see for example, and one I endeavour to engage in myself.
Its good to see PJ become more practical in his solutions in his latest radio address, and I look forward to the next one where he covers this aspect in hopefully more detail.
I also enjoyed the bit about him saying getting out of debt is an important step, again I find myself in agreement with him there!
(Paid for work, aka jobs generally help reduce debt..)
And even a mention about the need to ration certain resources during the transition stage if they are not in abundance, again I'm in agreement there with that logic.
Perhaps we might see TZM/PJ policy changing in allowing TZM and related resources to be utilised towards these aims, eg. people might be allowed to start businesses to share monetary income using say TZM forums/groups to organise themselves at first and not be told off for doing so.
After all, http://v-radio.org has a ChipIn! segment where he asks for donations to cover his costs, which at the moment include his home rental, owing to his landlord business suffering a sudden downturn in paying tenants.
I ask only that the rest of us be allowed the same privilages at least as a starting point.
For those interested, a related thread about the transition part involving socialism is on the main US site here:
