Hi
I have just Joined & www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com is really slow to load plus I get presented with a blank page and have to scroll down to see anything, formatting seems really bad, maybe I don't have a default Drupal theme or something.

I hate to say this because I know people put a lot of work into it and I am not a one for complaining....but I don't seem to like this new site at all and it is putting me off coming to the uk forum.
The Boonex software for this http://tzmnj.com/index.php site seems to be quite good.
It's not consistent. I'm using Firefox and keep it updated. Sometimes I have access to the whole site, links and toolbar - but not consistently. After deleting cookies and logging off I'm now shown 3 times as an online user yet this is not the case. Looks like login is by TCP session and my established NATs on the router have not yet timed out.
Are changes being made to the server? There's no point trying to troubleshoot this at the client if the source is in flux. Is the server firewalled? I'm sure it must be and with NAT. What are the outputs of the server and FW logs (physical IPs masked for security of course)?
We might be able to work this out. In my experience this sort of problem comes down to FW configuration usually.
Not sure who the ISP is and how helpful they are but a TCP dump from the source IP of a known host with connection issues can provide the analysis of the connectivity issue and lead to a resolution. We need the FW administration to help us with this though.
I echo the dischord of the community but am highly sympathetic, I work in IT and know that through all of your best efforts shit happens and not of you making. Best laid plans and all that... The Drupal software looks promising and I hope we can get it to work although personally I would prefer a uniform roll-out with the rest of thezeitgeistmovement community. If it works don't break it but not really aspirational zeitgeistmovement... better through technology...
We look to be trailblazer in software terms. With my corporate experience ( don't shoot me, please, I'm for the RBE) a test site would have been put up and evaluated before transitioning to production. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining one iota on principle and effort, the team behind the Drupal rollout is to be applauded for both but we do have an issue and we need to resolve it for the benefit of the movement.
Can we roll back to the previous Joomla platform if necessary? If so easily given the changes to the databases during the last few weeks?
Happy to provide any assistance I can as a network infrastucture engineer.
> a test site would have been put up and evaluated before transitioning to production.
That would be my favourite solution.
I do like some of the new features incidently.
There was a test site put up, you just had to be in the right Team Speak meetings to get the link, and things then seemed to work pretty much as they do now.
Physorg.com - Science and Technology news.
If the test link was advertised on say the forum and not just in a team speak meetings, more people would have tested it.
Are teamspeak meetings archived ?
Is the text part of said meetings also archived ?
This is one of the reasons IRC/Text chat is my more prefered chat method, as it is more easily archived and searched than voice chats.
Hi Nanos,
Not all Online UK Chapter Meetings are archived. The ones that are, are here:
http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/wiki/online-uk-chapter-meetings-te...
........ or (if link doesn't work) go to "Events" tab at top ....... then UK Chapter ..... and keep following directions.
I don't attend all these meetings, so may well have missed something. I recall we did a test of the Profile and Groups part of the website. I don't recall doing any test of the "Forum" part.
I recall hearing the opinion that forums are old-fashioned and (I think?) the suggestion that the forum part of the website might become obsolete ....... now that users can access the website via their local chapters etc.
If my understanding is incorrect, please feel free to correct me.

How do I do this?
Maybe I didn't word that correctly, but, what I meant was the parts of the site where you click on the "Groups" tab at the top or click on your name. This sort of thing:

......... an so on .......

What happened to the site that used to get linked to from UKZG? with the red and black colour scheme? It had some info I wanted to use..
The Tool Kit, with the flyers, is still there:
http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/toolkit
You can access the page by clicking "Advanced" in top right corner, then "Tool Kit".
Or, if you go to the "Understandings" tab, along the top ........ "Take Action" is the bottom item of the list. Click on that and there is a "Tool Kit" clicky at the top of the "Take Action" page.

Thanks.
Can you confirm that the original site I'm talking about has been taken offline?
If not, I still need to visit it and would love the url.
This website has the same URL as the previous forum.
As far as I am aware (pretty much?) everything has been imported.
Also, as far as I'm aware, those tool kit pages contain everything they always have ...... it's just they now have a blue (not red) font?
Can I ask what you're looking for?

Sorry for the confusion, I thought it was an external site that I was talking about. I didn't realise it was integrated with this one.
Specifically I was looking for the list of "must see" movies and documentns that were displayed on the site.
I am working on plans for creating a site of my own, and I was also drawing inspiration from the way the website was written and laid out - it had a very personal touch to it I felt.
It's not a big issue, I will be fine without it. Thanks for replying.

If you go to the website homepage (when logged out) there is a list of "must see" movies on the right of the page.
The same (or similar) list is shown here:
