One really cool thing we've done is embedded an events calendar on the events page, so people can see our upcoming meetings and ZMF screenings and any other events...

We also make all meeting minutes and agendas public so anyone can catch up if they miss a meeting, or review our chapter's meeting history, should they so desire. The agendas and minutes are listed here:

We do all this using Google Apps, which makes it really easy to create sites and publish documents and calendars, because the apps suite is also tied onto our sub-domain it means we can share and collaborate on documents and have our own email addresses and even internal "intranet" style sites.
If anyone else wants a sub-domain under tzmchapters.org for their local chapter I'm happy to create this for you (for free of course).
