Sorry I should have been clearer, Of course Politics itself isn't corrupt, when I say a "corrupt system" I am of course referring to the current process in this country that obviously is somewhat lacking.
As I said in my other post its a subject that I swing wildly on. But your quote about not being in the kitchen makes a lot of sense.
It would be nice to just push aside the current political system and just replace it with something better but that's not terribly realistic.
And I have to agree with GM:
Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
So I have been thinking about this overnight and while there seems to be a lot of interest in attempting to found a party based on the basic principles of TZM there also seems to be a preference to make it "separate but sympathetic".
I would be very interested in discussing this further as a real proposition. I wonder if it would be more appropriate to take the discussion elsewhere so as not to come into confilct with the Movement's prevalent opinion on there not being a political engagement?
I can easily set up another small forum for people to go it if there is sufficient interest?
I think that would be a good idea.
It could give one more chance to the supporters of the movement to do something for the cause.
However I'm not a British citizen and I can't vote here, I would like to see an existing party wich may show some example to other parts of Europe/ World.
And if I could help this thing to be realised, i would do it!
For eg. UK was one of the countries wich was a sort of inspiration in our country many many times.
I really like in this country how civil movements can have power, how important the science is here, or how strong a community can be, or how fast you can adapt policies or widen human rights. (This is one of the reasons why I came here, to learn)
The Hungarian Parlament was based on the British one (just 1 metre wider ).
Our transport system is now planned to be reformed to the British way.
So if a RBE supporting political party here would emerge, there will be followers in Hungary as well for sure.
