Password Security

The whole point of having passwords for this forum is defeated when the system sends an unencrypted email to you with your username and password included in open text. It's only available to those who are sophisticated enough to track the email traffic or copies left on servers around the world. As I entered the password, please trust me to keep track of it. All that is required for the forgetful is a system to enable resetting the password when forgotten.

Many thanks,
John

Re: Password Security

The email that you get is the default one used in phpbb3 - I have edited it so that it only returns the username and not the password.

If its any consolation the transport between the local mail server and your mail host should have been encrypted.
