Welcome to The Zeitgeist Movement UK
Imagine a world without war, poverty, misery or money. Imagine a world where all people work together in a spirit of cooperation and not competition. Imagine this safer saner world and you are closer to understanding what the Zeitgeist Movement is about.
A close look at our present social systems which are built upon fundamentals which produce war, poverty, murder, crime, violence, compromised healthcare, media monopoly, corporate corruption and indifference for the environment, greed, apathetic self interest and desensitisation from others suffering, obsolete and archaic political systems based on subjective opinion (guesswork) and not on scientific and empirical certainty.
Its abundantly clear that we need to adapt our thinking because it will definitely be to our collective detriment if we do not. If we carry on so carelessly and wastefully into future, our future generations will pay the price for our mistakes. The Venus Project has the solutions. What is The Zeitgeist Movement?
- TZM recognises that our current conduct on this planet is unsustainable and advocates a transition into a new framework for society called a Resource Based Economy.
- TZM recognises that, through the humane use of technology, we can provide a near abundance of the necessities of life to all of the world's people, and aims to eliminate scarcity in as many areas as possible; creating a system of access rather than property and money.
- TZM recognises that our current employment model is outdated and not in line with the advancement of technology, and advocates working towards machine automation in the production of goods and services; removing the need for human labour wherever possible, while maximising efficiency.
- TZM recognises that society must have a symbiotic relationship with nature in order to be sustainable and achieve an ecological balance by living in harmony with the earth and not in spite of it.
- TZM recognises that nothing less than a complete shift in the way we operate on this planet is required if we wish to avoid social collapse on a global scale.
- TZM aims to remove the conditions needed for governments and laws by addressing the root causes of our social problems by creating a more humane environment which through it's design, encourages and necessitates positive human behaviours and actions.
- TZM advocates the scientific method applied to society for social concern, arriving at decisions based on statistical data and inferential logic geared towards maximum efficiency of operations, rather than opinions based on self and national interest.
- TZM is primarily a social movement, advocating a system that encourages collaboration rather than competition and is based on unity and equality by design.
- TZM is not an institution or a political organization and whilst structured around projects, operates without hierarchy or leaders.
- TZM's purpose is to initiate the transition into a Resource Based Economy by spreading awareness of the concept.
What is a Resource Based Economy?
- A RBE is a global system in which the planet's resources are declared the common heritage of all the world's people.
- A RBE is a system in which all goods and services are available to everyone without the use of money, barter, or any other form of debt or servitude.
- A RBE applies a systems approach to society and manages the earth's resources holistically while streamlining production to reduce waste.
- A RBE presents a system where human wellbeing and the preservation of the earth take priority rather than profit.
- A RBE is a system based on machine automation rather than human labour, freeing all people from meaningless and repetitive jobs.
